Franc Arman’s wines are matured in either stainless steel tanks or wooden barrels and the colour of the bottle label reflects this: white labels are stainless steel and black labels, wood. In general, stainless steel produces a light, fresh flavour and wood a softer, richer flavour, with the larger the barrel, the softer the taste.
A relatively new addition to the Franc Arman cellar, this high-class Merlot is aged in large oak barrels and has a deep ruby colour with a hint of purple. At first opens with aromas of raspberries and blackcurrants. With air notes of cedar and spices come across. Wood is perfectly balanced while palate confirms sensations on the nose. Aftertaste is long and imbued with mineral hints due to the combination of red and white soil.
Food pairing: Tuna, steaks, roast turkey.
